50th Jubilee October 2011
The dates for the College's 50th Jubilee are Friday 7th October to Sunday 9th October 2011. Several factors were taken into account in deciding the dates such as; the school term dates for 2011; the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and clashes with another reunion from another boy's catholic school in Christchurch. The weekend chosen is actually the quarter finals weekend for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, with that tournament running from September 10th- October 22nd. The two quarter finals are hosted in Wellington and Christchurch on that weekend and games will kick off at 8.30pm. Having our Jubilee on that weekend increases our chances of getting a large number of Old Boys from across the world attending.
Please register you interest for the Jubilee on the Register as an Old Boy section of the web site. You are most welcome and we would love to see as many years represented as possible in this great occasion.
I am currently in the process of developing an Old Boys Jubilee committee. In the next few months I will be inviting people to be part of the organising committee and I would love to hear from anyone interested in being involved. I am grateful to Bevan Killick who has been assisting me in the organisation of the Old Boys network already. His input has already been invaluable and it's great to have him back in Christchurch after several years living in the UK.
