International Students » Pastoral Care
WELFARE
The welfare of our International Students is given a high priority. An orientation and peer support programme is held for all international students.
Our International Co-ordinator together with the Deans and Management oversee the student's pastoral care and ensure there is a supportive atmosphere for our International Students. Staff are always made familiar with the needs of International Students
Extra English language assistance is available in small classes, or on an individual basis. The ESOL teacher and tutor are also very helpful to students in adapting to the New Zealand system.
Homestay Arrangements
International Students are placed with New Zealand families (unless alternative arrangements have been made with the parents, when permission has to be obtained from the Principal.)
All of our homestay providers are carefully checked to ensure that we have the highest standards of housing and care for each student. The school assures the responsibility of providing ongoing support and advice from the International Co-ordinator for those who use our homestay service, at no additional cost.
