Old Boys Network » Welcome

A warm welcome to all to the Old Boys Network at St Thomas of Canterbury College and our inaugural section on the College's new webpage. To introduce myself, my name is Chris O'Connell, Head of Sport and a PE Teacher at St Thomas of Canterbury College. I am a proud Old Boy of the College (1988-1992) and was College Captain in 1992. I have been appointed as Teacher in Charge of the Old Boys Network and will be assisting to organise the College Jubilee planned for 2011.
It is a very exciting time for us at the moment as we are planning for our 50th Jubilee. The dates for the Jubilee have recently been announced and they are; Friday 7th October to Sunday 9th October 2011. For further information and to register your interest, please visit the 50th Jubilee section of this website.
On the website, among other great sections, you will find the Thomas Times Newsletter our Old Boys Publication which I strongly encourage you to read. The Thomas Times previously was a glossy paper newsletter introduced by Brother Bill Dowling several years ago. It now takes the face of modern technology as an e-newsletter for circulation all over the world to our Old Boys and friends of the College via email or on the website.
So far for me it has been really fascinating and enjoyable sourcing our Old Boys movements, and finding out their current situations such as where they are living and where they are working.
I would like all Old Boys to register themselves on this new website so we have a complete database of all Old Boys, their contact details and the years that they attended the College. Please do this on the Register as an Old Boy page.
There is a Facebook page entitled 'St Thomas of Canterbury College Old Boys Network' (see Web Links section) which has grown each day and I encourage all Old Boys on our Facebook site to register on this website as well.
There have been a few Old Boys events recently and you will see some of the pictures of these in the Thomas Times Newsletter and in the Images section of this website. It is very heartening to get the feedback that guys are enjoying the events and catching up with old mates. I really appreciate the guys who are passing on the information that I send out and it is great to get new Old Boys registering their interest all the time.
Please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to be involved in an organisational capacity. I look forward to hearing from you!
